Music Ministry

How can we do anything but praise Him? The Lord has been so good to me. I am blessed with a loving wife and have four beautiful children. Since coming to Mars Hill Baptist Church, God has stretched  me beyond the limits of my own mind. "Thinking out of the box" has become quite the mantra of the music ministry at MHBC. I find myself often pushing past the boundaries of ability, knowledge, and talent to meet the growing passion of our church to praise the Lord. This forces me to always be learning, teaching, studying, stretching, striving, and sometimes stumbling. I am often thankful for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and His people at Mars Hill Baptist. My desire is for you to find whatever it is you're looking for and it may be found at Mars Hill Baptist.

Mars Hill Music Program

1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in His mighty heavens. 2 Praise Him for his acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, 5 praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. The above scripture typifies the attitude fostered in the music program at Mars Hill Baptist Church. The church must be willing to praise the Lord with all that the Lord has gifted it with.

• Mars Hill Baptist Church is blessed with a 60+ voice choir that travels in and around Lawrence County spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through music. The choir released its' first professional recording project entitled, "Southern Gospel Live" in the Fall of 2005.

• There is a ladies ensemble, a praise band, a traveling praise team, and various groups and soloist that strive to honor the Lord with music.

• MHBC has an accompaniment team comprised of keyboardists, guitarists, drummers, and woodwinds all with varying skills, talents, and backgrounds.

• The Music ministry presents a heart swelling tribute to our God & Country each year as well as a Christmas Presentation.

• The MHBC children present a Christmas program as well as a Spring Musicale each year.
