Charity organizations are an institution or a body created with the objective of helping people in need
There are innumerable individuals, both adults and children who lack the means and funds for their survival in this world. In such cases it is the charity organizations that help out in the form of a wide array of help and aid by collecting donations, generating funds, and accepting gifts in various forms for distribution to the poor. Charity organizations are thus an institution or a body created with the objective of helping people in need. Charity organizations spread the light of kindness by garnering funds that are used for providing shelter, food, training, education and many more self-improvement programs for the disadvantaged lot. Some charity organizations specialize in providing medical, educational and other benefits solely for children including special or disabled children.
The structure of a charity organization is normally documented and spells out the goals and objectives of the charity organization. The manner of execution of its various activities is also charted out in a charity organization. The people at the helm of the charity organization are the trustees of the charity organization and generally do all the decision making and controlling of the work within the charity organization. Apart from the trustees, a charity organization may also include members, directors or governors etc.
It is to be noted that charity organizations differ in many ways in their meaning, nature and style of operations from country to country around the world. The rules that are implemented, the documentation required for registration, the taxes levied on the charity organizations are different in different regions of the world.
In England and Wales, a charity organization also known as a voluntary organization takes the form of either a Trust or an association that is not incorporated, or a company restricted by some undertaking. Such charity organizations’ sole motive is to provide charity or other generous deeds for the poor. Registration of charity organizations in England & Wales is compulsory if the earnings are above 5000 pounds. However, there are exceptions to this rule for certain charity organizations Viz. University, museum charity organizations.
The United States of America refer to a charity organization as one which is set up for the good of the public in general. Here again rules related to the working of a charity organization differ from one region to the other.
Charity organizations normally enjoy a number of tax benefits. These benefits are applicable even to the donors contributing to the charity organizations. Income tax, corporation tax, stamp duty tax are just a few examples that the charity organizations and the donors of charity organizations are entitled to.
In case a particular charity organization is unable to implement its goals and objectives and there is a failure to perform in the planned manner, then the charity organization may be merged with another charity organization that is similar in function.
Charity organizations work for a cause thus enabling mankind is able to give back to society what it takes. A large number of poor and destitute children have been given shelter, food, clothing, and education only due to the zeal and dedication of charity organizations. Some charity organizations arrange for training and suitable self-support schemes to the needy. Thus charity organizations actually enable needy people to become self sufficient thereby helping them to keep away from crime and other illegal means of earning.
Charity organizations sensitize the society towards the people living below the poverty line. No discrimination is shown towards caste, creed or religion and the purpose of charity organizations is only for the upliftment of the deprived. We must therefore salute the noble work carried out by these charity organizations and contribute to their cause in whatever possible manner each one of us can for the overall betterment of the society.

10,000 Laughs: Best of the Boston Comedy Festival $17.98 It is probably fair to say that, as the title indicates, there are 10,000 laughs on this 16-comedian, two-hour-and-18-minute double-CD set, at least in terms of the sounds from the audience at the Boston Comedy Festival. Whether listeners to the album will get as many laughs out of it is another question. Comedy, especially the one-joke-after-another style of single-person standup comedy, can be local and topical, and the references heard repeatedly on these discs bear that out. Among the 16 comics, all of them men, are ones with names like Jim McCue, James P. Connolly, and Rob O’Reilly, which offers a hint that there are plenty of discussions about what it’s like to be Irish-American and Catholic and that the college name most often mentioned is Harvard (not that any of the comedians sound like they’ve attended Harvard, though some sound like they may be in college now). Perhaps not coincidentally, drinking comes up quite a lot. But then, that may simply be because there are laughs to be found in drinking and drinking to be found at comedy clubs. Drugs factor in, too, along with lots of sex, more often in complaints about its absence than anything else. Fast food makes many appearances, too, though not so much as an actual subject of humor as a common reference point between the comedians and their listeners. So does George W. Bush, who is the butt of many jokes. That’s not surprising, of course. But it does seem odd that homelessness and those charities that ask people to adopt poor Third World children for pennies a day are frequently mentioned. These are comedians who have much in common, but with slight variations. Tom Simmons finds a lot of humor in sports, although he really gets revved up (and funniest) at the end criticizing his wife. Connolly seems to want to become the next Steve Martin, adopting the same sort of insensitive and boorish character Martin used to play in his standup act. Ryan Hamilton mines laser eye surgery for a surprising number of la… |

12 Going on 29: Surviving Your Daughter’s Tween Years $40 Motivational speaker/mom Silvana Clark, in concert with her now-teenaged daughter Sondra, confirms in this book the confusion and possible unpleasantness tween girls and their moms around the world face in these sometimes-trying years. Through surveys and interviews with some 100 mother-daughter pairs, the Clarks show us what preteen girls are thinking and wanting, how mothers can successfully help their daughters navigate these years to avoid the potential minefields, and how they can successfully guide their daughters while keeping a respectful and loving relationship intact. The tween years—ages about 9 to 12—are a time when girls seem to grow astonishingly quickly toward establishing their independence and adult identity. It is a time of testing new feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and can be a time of testing mom’s patience, persistence and energy. From cell phones to body piercings and hair dye, seductive clothes and strange boyfriends, girls want to test the waters and experience what the world has to offer. Excerpt: Cranbrook School Cranbrook School is a co-educational boarding and day grammar school located in Cranbrook, Kent in South East England .Brief history Founded in 1518 for poor boys of the town, it received a charter from Queen Elizabeth I in 1574. Although in 1817 the town petitioned the Master of the Rolls, complaining boarders were favored over day boys, its complaints were rejected. By 1850 the Headmaster had converted the student body to boarders. A later conflict caused the school to lose many pupils and masters, nearly causing its closure near the end of the 19th century. In the early 20th century, the school began to receive state aid and made a tentative recovery. In the 1970s, Cranbrook School became coeducational and tripled its number of pupils. Selection is made of pupils at age thirteen. Boarding and day pupils come from a 6.2 mile-diameter catchment area. The school sponsors an annual Lenten Appeal, in which students raise money for a variety of charities. The current Headmistress is Mrs. Angela Daly.History Foundation The school was founded in 1518 by John Blubery, during the reign of King Henry VIII . A resident of Cranbrook, Blubery was a King’s armourer under Henry VII . He worked first at the armoury at Greenwich and later at the Tower of London . He was briefly imprisoned in the Tower, possibly for having taken concealed commissions. He owned an exceptionally high number of estates. Blubery’s crime was considered |
